NASHVILLE, TENN., October 22, 2018 – Global Educational Concepts, a provider of support and service to international students through sponsoring cultural exchanges with the Department of State’s J-1 Summer Work Travel and Internship programs and a member of Southwestern Family of Companies, announces today the promotion of Muzo Unluel to Vice President. GEC promotes developing better understanding and appreciation between citizens of the USA and countries throughout the world through public diplomacy exchanges.
10 years ago, Unluel joined Global Educational Concepts (GEC) as a trainee and has progressed through several roles at GEC, most recently serving as director of internal communications. He previously gained experience working with exchange organizations in Europe and Asia.
Unluel’s strategic leadership and planning has built GEC into the successful business it is today. When he joined the company as a trainee, approximately 750 students were participating in the program. Today, the international exchange program has nearly 2,750 participants living, working and training across the United States.
“When Muzo joined us as a trainee, little did we know what an indispensable asset he would become to the successful development of GEC,” says Dave Causer, President of Global Education Concepts. “His dedication to excellence inspires all of us, and it has been his knowledge and expertise that has propelled GEC forward.” Causer goes on to say, “I do not know of a time in our country’s history where these types of cultural exchanges to develop a better understanding between people are more important than right now.”
As Vice President, he will continue to grow the GEC program to include new exchange visitor categories, such as a language school, teaching training and high school over the next five to 10 years.
“Having seen GEC grow significantly over the last decade, I look forward to planning for what promises to be a successful future for GEC,” says Unluel.“ As Vice President, my goal is to bring the support and services of GEC to as many international students seeking work and training experiences in the United States as possible.
While building GEC into a highly successful business, Unluel also has moved his family to the United States. He currently resides in Nashville with his wife and two children.
