NASHVILLE, Tenn., September 10, 2018 – Southwestern Advantage, dedicated to helping college students and recent graduates build their own business by selling educational materials, announces the promotion of Brad Bernard to chief financial officer.
Bernard has been with Southwestern Advantage for six years. In his new role as CFO of Southwestern Advantage and Global Education Concepts, a division of Southwestern Advantage, he will oversee financial and accounting functions, as well as seek out opportunities to grow sales and improve cost savings for the company.
“Brad brings a rare combination of abilities to his well-deserved promotion into this new role,” says President of Southwestern Advantage Dan Moore. “He is intelligent, perceptive, objective and committed to our mission of building skills and character in young people.”
Bernard’s goal is to improve profit margins over the next 10 years and thereby contribute to the growth of Southwestern Family of Companies’ revenue. Having already created a projection template for sales managers to see their compensation in real time, Bernard aims to further automate repetitive tasks and make greater strides toward improving the efficiency of the company overall.
“In the summer of 2012, a friend recruited me to Southwestern Advantage, and I was hired one year later after completing graduate school,” says Bernard. “I look forward to serving Southwestern Advantage in this new capacity and continuing to provide other college students the same formative opportunity that I had during my summer experience.”
Previously, Bernard served as assistant controller of Southwestern Advantage, overseeing the compensation plan and instituting changes to improve visibility for sales managers. He also oversaw accounting and budgeting for the website division of Southwestern Advantage.
