This commitment to excellence extends to the educational products that we serve our customers with. Thanks to Southwestern Advantage’s extensive product offering, our dedicated internal staff members, and the best sales team in the world, the Southwestern Advantage suite of websites sales grew 16% in 2018 with profits growing 26%.

The Southwestern Advantage suite of websites currently includes access to Skwids (app and website), HOMER Reading (app and website), Advantage4Kids (app coming soon and website), Advantage4Teens (app and website), Adv4Life (website), and Advantage4Parents (website).
Skwids offers preschoolers through second-graders a learning adventure in everything from math and science to sign language and music with videos, quizzes, games, and worksheets. At Southwestern Advantage, we believe in helping children learn to be their best—in life as well as academics. Two years ago, we introduced a series called Move, Munch, and Make to expose children to the importance (and fun!) of exercising, following instructions, discovering their own creativity, and making healthy food. This series also features the creative talents of Kathy McCool at Wildtree, Sara Mercier in Southwestern Advantage sales support, Cheerville Athletics, and our friends at Rock Zone School of Music, who wrote and performed a rocking theme song for this series. Plans are currently underway to add a new animated life-skills video series, starring COOP and friends, the characters who got their start as Southwestern Fundraising’s keychains.
HOMER Reading is accessible to our Advantage subscribers through a partnership that allows us to provide children ages 2–8 a proven learn-to-read program based on a child’s customized interests and skill level, and designed to cultivate a love of reading. HOMER offers 1000+ lessons with skill-building games and activities, a digital library of animated stories, fables, fairy tales, and much more. In a recent study, 15 minutes of HOMER Reading a day was shown to boost early reading scores by 74%!
Advantage4Kids provides state-of-the-art instruction and practice in math and reading for students from second to sixth grade via videos, quizzes, animated glossary terms, games, and National Geographic Kids eBooks. A host of kid-friendly animated characters, like Gem, Sorsha, X, and Prof Wu—along with the help of some very talented educators—guarantee that kids will have fun understanding today’s math and reading requirements! In addition to featuring over 100 Nat Geo Kids eBooks and over 400 math instructional videos, we are very pleased to announce the addition of Reading Skills (topics include reading comprehension, reading strategies, grammar, spelling, and vocabulary), which will be available April 22 on the website. Since 95% of families with young children have smartphones and 78% have tablets, it only made sense to develop a mobile app. On March 25, 2019, our IT team began testing the Advantage4Kids mobile app. The mobile app contains the same great content as the website using mobile design and navigation. Advantage4Kids will be available on iTunes and Google Play on May 1, 2019.
Advantage4Teens provides students in middle school through high school outstanding learning support for all required subjects—math, science, social studies, language arts—and then some! Whether students need help understanding the different types of cells for biology, brushing up on the branches of federal government, factoring polynomials, or learning how to cite sources for a research paper, Advantage4teens is at the ready! Our videos, articles, quizzes, and worksheets help students master difficult concepts, prepare for tests, make sense of what they did not understand in school, or simply find helpful information for school reports and projects.
Adv4Life is a site dedicated to equipping kids in middle school through high school to successfully navigate important life experiences outside of the classroom. Topics include preparing for independence and work, managing money and relationships, maintaining health and wellness, and much more. A fresh, new design and inspiring new content are currently underway for launch later this year.
The Southwestern Advantage subscription also includes Advantage4Parents, our site that encourages busy parents with uplifting information, inspiring ideas for the whole family, and helpful parenting tips. On April 22, 2019, Advantage4Parents launched a redesigned content focus, improved navigation, and enhanced branding information about Southwestern Family of Companies.
The success of the subscription services above can be attributed company-wide. Our District Sales Leaders and Directors are instrumental in leading the sales field in selling the online program. They are supported heavily by their Sales Support partners. Keeping Southwestern Advantage operations on track are the Accounting, Customer Contact Center, and Host Family Coordinator teams. The Product, Marketing, and IT teams are heavily involved in the creation of the superior educational content, marketing materials, and the leading-edge IT applications.
