Southwestern Family of Companies hosted the Southwestern Advantage Family Reunion for alumni in Seattle, Washington, on November 14th. The night filled with stories of how Southwestern has positively impacted attendees’ lives and how they, in turn, have made an impact on people they recruited and families who invested in their children through our products.
In talking with the titans of our past, it was a reminder that we are a product of those who preceded us. For example, Stuart Newton was a partner at Unfair Advantage, who created Critical Success Factors tracking program, with his business partner, Marc Savas. Critical Success Factors are now part of Southwestern Consulting. Stuart also recruited his cousin Kelly Breslin Wright who has been a very successful businessperson and now is a speaker who focuses on empowering women in the workplace. Kelly continues to give back to Southwestern Advantage as a guest keynote speaker at the Southwestern Advantage Great Recruiter Seminar training event and serves as a host family for dealers during the summer. The impact of the relationships extends world-wide. Tom McAuliffe, who managed Kelly, also helped recruit and lead our first group of Europeans at Southwestern Advantage. Southwestern has since had over 10,000 people from Europe participate in the program over the years.
A few key people who inspired many at the Family Reunion were Southwestern Advantage leaders, Dillon Buck and AJ Skalsky. They spoke to Southwestern Alumni with college-age kids. Representing Southwestern Advantage, they recounted the positive impact they had during their time at Southwestern and invited their kids to join in the legacy that their parents helped to create. It was reaffirming and energizing to reconnect with the amazing Southwestern community and to reflect on the positive impact they have made in the world. The next gathering will be in London with Alan Morton, Stuart Lotherington, Dave Causer, and Dan Moore in December 2019, with plans in 2020 to bring the Family Reunion to other cities as well.
