GEC is growing, with two recently added ‘’Teacher’’ program categories: Teach English Abroad and Teach USA.
GEC recently started the Teacher Programs Department, which will not only bring international teachers to U.S. schools but also send bachelor’s degree holder U.S. citizens to other countries as English teachers. The Teacher Programs Department is led by Cem Arituluk, who joined GEC in May 2019 as the Director of Teacher Programs. Before GEC, Cem Arituluk was the CEO and founding partner of a K-12 school called Vizyon College in Istanbul, which was accredited by Microsoft in 2016 as ”the best Microsoft showcase school in the world.” Cem Arituluk also has deep knowledge of and experience with international cultural and exchange programs.
Teach English Abroad
Teaching English Abroad is one of the best ways to gain professional experience while saving money and seeing the world. GEC started this outbound program with three high-demand destinations: China, South Korea and Thailand. In China, GEC is partnering with some of the biggest private school chains in the country, each having more than 100 locations. In South Korea, GEC has been designated as an official U.S. partner organization of the Korean Ministry of Education. GEC teachers are hired by the Korean government. GEC is also well organized in Thailand, where teachers are placed in public schools throughout the country. Teach USA
Teach USA is a cultural exchange program that unites international teachers and U.S. schools. Teachers get the chance to teach and immerse themselves in American culture for up to 5 years, and U.S. schools enjoy the benefits of diversified education from qualified international teachers. This program has enabled thousands of highly qualified international teachers to experience American culture, society, education practices, and helped to enhance U.S. students’ knowledge of foreign cultures, customs, and teaching approaches.
Through the process of becoming a designated sponsor of the Teacher Exchange Program of the U.S. Department of State in 2020, GEC has already started screening and recruiting the best teachers from more than 30 countries for U.S. school systems.
