Southwestern Insurance Group sold its first insurance policy in November 2018 and never looked back – they recently passed $1.5 million in sales. The business serves their clients by connecting them with the best insurance products for their situation.
Founder and President David Stuart moved to Nashville in June 2018 to launch Southwestern Insurance Group. A former book person with Southwestern Advantage, David loved the energy and innovation Southwestern Family of Companies has around helping alumni start new companies.
“I could have started an insurance agency on my own, but I wanted to create a fun business for book people to come back to and for up and coming sales people to aspire to join,” David said. “Southwestern people are amazing, and insurance is an industry that can really scale with the right sales people serving clients.”
Southwestern Insurance Group has hired four former book people and hopes to add more as business grows. Currently serving clients in five states, David has his eyes set on growing nationwide through a consultative approach to personal lines insurance.
According to David, “At Southwestern, saying sales is the same as saying service. Insurance is an industry that has become very commoditized – focused only on how to save money. We focus on the client and shop for the best products for their needs. Insurance is important to everyone at any age. We are working toward making insurance cool for young people.”
