November 13 is World Kindness Day: Here’s Everything You Need to Know

World Kindness Day is just around the corner, and the Inspire Kindness team is inviting everyone from the Southwestern Family of Companies to celebrate with us! Here’s a breakdown of all you need to know about World Kindness Day and how you can celebrate, no matter where you are!

What is World Kindness Day?

November 13 of each year is World Kindness Day. This celebration was created at a global conference 21 years ago to promote kindness to others, yourself, and the world. Kindness has the power to unite people everywhere, and the impact of kind acts can make a real difference in our lives. 

On World Kindness Day, we’re all encouraged to go above and beyond with our acts of kindness. It’s the day to go out of your way to make others feel special. The day is also an excellent opportunity to recognize the service and generosity you already see in your family members, friends, and colleagues. Let them know how much you appreciate the things they do daily.

Join Inspire Kindness in the Celebration

For World Kindness Day this year, the Inspire Kindness team is going all-out. We’re encouraging everyone to perform intentional acts of kindness throughout the day. To help, we’ll be sending out one act of kindness to perform each hour between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. We’ll also be hitting the streets of Broadway to raise awareness and get our community involved!

Starting the weekend before, we’ll begin hosting promotions. There will be sales over the weekend and both days leading up to World Kindness Day. On November 13, we’ll have various sales throughout the day and free shipping! These promotions will be our biggest of the year, so don’t wait until Black Friday.

How to Get Involved

We’d love for you to help out and join our cause! Here are some ways you can contribute:

• Join our Facebook Event: We’ll be posting hourly kindness acts and promotions all day. You can do these kind acts or take advantage of the sales from anywhere!
• Head to downtown Nashville: The Inspire Kindness team will be outside Tequila Cowboy from noon to 5:30 p.m. Come by to get some kindness swag and shop our popup store.
• Share our “Pay it Forward” video: This video highlights the ripple effect that one act of kindness can create. Small acts of kindness can truly spread and grow into something much bigger than we could ever imagine.
• Download FREE printables: Get kindness cards, a poster, a kindness tear-off sheet, graphics to share, and more! These printables are a great way to encourage your colleagues to be kind.
