Southwestern Medicare Serves Growing Market
Nashville, Tenn. – April 29, 2019 We are pleased to announce the addition of Southwestern Medicare to our diversified, growing, international, and employee-owned family of companies. A Medicare supplement insurance agency contracting with over a dozen major insurance carriers, Southwestern Medicare shops and compares rates to identify the lowest cost of coverage for clients.
Southwestern Medicare will provide clients with Medicare Supplement Plans, Dental/Vision, and Long-Term Care insurance plan options, and can offer guidance advice on the selection of a Part “D” drug card based on the a client’s individual prescriptions. Each member of the Southwestern Medicare team sees it as his or her responsibility to thoroughly and professionally assist clients with important decisions regarding Medicare coverage options by offering honest, unbiased information and guiding them through the process.

Southwestern Medicare is led by Buzz Stone who began his career in the insurance industry in 2001. He worked for six years as an independent insurance agent selling health insurance to small business owners and self-employed individuals. He received awards for excellent sales records, including Top Agent in the State of Tennessee from United Group Agency for two years, ranking Number Two Agent of The Year in a five-state area by United Group Agency, and was quickly promoted to district manager with United Group Agency based on his sales record. Stone became the Number-One District with UGA in the State of Tennessee, managing 20 agents. Other awards with UGA include President’s Council, Million-Dollar Producer, and Regional Quick-Start Producer.
In 2007, Stone decided to devote his career solely to the senior market selling Medicare Supplement Insurance and other Medicare-related products. He soon rose to the top 2% of agents nationwide for Mutual of Omaha and was awarded Number-One Agent in Tennessee with WellCare Healthcare Corp.
Stone and Claudia Pearman, operations coordinator, met when Pearman purchased her Medicare supplement through Stone, and the two began working together in 2018 at his company, More Medicare. Pearman came to the company with experience in marketing and promoting nonprofits with churches and independent private schools. She was also a lifetime member of the Atlanta Board of Realtors’ Multi-Million Dollar Club.

Stone is a native of Laurel, Mississippi, and graduated from Belmont University with a Bachelor of Science in business administration.
