The Speakers Agent role primarily involves strategic activity focused on outbound calling and emailing to source speaking engagements, provide great account management, and nurture repeat client relationships while also working inbound leads from marketing efforts.  This position requires excellent phone and email communication skills.  The Speakers Agent serves as a project manager for the division to work as a liaison to the President of Southwestern Speakers (SWS), helping to oversee the speaking and training pipelines, contracts, account collection. This position provides excellent service to team members and customers while demonstrating the company values and supporting the mission.


  • Creatively generate new leads and referrals through social media, online lead research, past clients, referral partners, associations, and other networks
  • Perform outbound activity over the phone to identify people who book speakers and determine what events they hold throughout the year
  • Responsible for consultative selling to determine what the organization would like to accomplish by bringing in a speaker
  • Demonstrate strategic thinking and negotiation skills to procure a speaker for client events
  • Maintain client relationships to book speakers for future events
  • Negotiate bulk book and product sales of our internal products
  • Strategically identify and propose additional services (i.e. complimentary workshops to introduce coaching services)
  • Re-engage dormant speaking and consulting leads from our database
  • Coordinate pre-event and follow-up calls with the speaker and the client
  • Oversee travel coordination for speaking events
  • Review speaking and training pipelines for the division
  • Oversight and project management of contracting, invoicing, and shipping processes
  • Contribute to building email marketing campaigns to promote SWS services and individual speakers
  • Continual focus and collaboration on process improvement
  • Perform other duties as assigned


  • Associate’s degree
  • Experience booking speakers
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Social media and marketing savvy
  • Ability to learn CRM and technology quickly
