ABOUT THE POSITION

The Senior Controller is an experienced problem solver and leader with excellent communication skills. The position actively leads the financial and accounting function of the business. The Senior Controller brings principled decision making to the leadership team to facilitate growth in the profitability of the business. This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and provides excellent service to team members and external customers while demonstrating the company values and supporting the mission.

 

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise, train, and mentor staff. Identify professional development opportunities and provide performance feedback on an ongoing basis.
  • Train and lead a team of accounting and finance staff
  • Maintain the general ledger and accounting system
  • Inform and advise key people of trends and developments within financial records and sales activity reports
  • Analyze work to assure that accurate information necessary to make decisions is received timely
  • Review and approve invoices, commission wires, timesheets, and payroll
  • Review and approve general ledger entries and  prepare the financial statement package
  • Review compensation and incentive plans periodically and design new plans as needed
  • Prepare financial reports used to manage the business
  • Lead Financial Statement Review meetings with leadership team
  • Assist in the annual budget and forecasting process
  • Interface with sales market managers to answer compensation and business questions; facilitate problem solving
  • Interface with Corporate departments to make business decisions with financial and risk impact
  • Assist the CFO in special projects and other assigned tasks as necessary
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Certified Public Accountant license is preferred
  • 5 years of experience in accounting
  • 3 years of finance management experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while accomplishing daily tasks
  • Effective oral and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail and critical thinker with exceptional problem-solving skills
  • High standards for integrity, honesty, professionalism, and work ethic
  • Commitment to service excellence
  • Ability to work independently while demonstrating excellent organization and follow through
