Content Editor:

Southwestern Consulting is looking for a Project Manager and Editor who will be responsible for managing projects and serving as an editor for the Content Team. This new position would serve as an integral part of the content creation process, working closely with the Content Manager.

Qualifications:

The desired candidate will possess the following knowledge, experience, education, and skills:

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Generate and edit content for coaches and clients, including training modules, manuals, scripts, website and marketing copy, etc.
  • Proactively take lead in managing content projects from ideation to completion, keeping all team members, including senior leadership, on the established schedule
  • Collaborate with Content Contributors to develop new content and edit existing content
  • Conduct research, write original content, edit their own and others’ content, and perform format checks in a variety of mediums accurately and efficiently
  • Check writing submissions for accuracy and qualified sources
  • Maintain an editorial calendar for all Content Team projects
  • Work closely with the Content Manager to ensure all projects are finished on time and error free
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Team to generate content for the company’s social media platforms and website

 Job Requirements

  • Experience in professional editing preferred
  • Ability to produce before and after editing samples as well as writing samples
  • Superior knowledge of English grammar and high proficiency in Chicago Manual of Style
  • Ability to learn and utilize an in-house style guide
  • Willingness to learn and promote Southwestern Consulting’s sales philosophies and principles

 Education: Bachelor’s degree

 Skills Required:

  • MUST be detail oriented, well-organized, and able to set priorities
  • Able to think critically and problem solve, both independently and in a group setting
  • Able to quickly learn new operations, technology, and skills
  • Possess strong communication skills
  • Able to manage large amounts of content, quickly, and accurately
  • Eagle-eyed at catching errors
  • Use good judgment regarding when to take action and when to move something up the line for approval
  • Has proven project management and organizational skills
  • Able to manage multiple projects with a variety of deadlines and complexity simultaneously
  • Works cooperatively within a team
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • A working knowledge of InDesign and the Adobe Suite a plus
  • Ability to publish content online via WordPress
